BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberland Trace Elementary School students got their chance to help the City of Bowling Green plan for the major renovation and expansion of the new Riverfront Park.

They were asked to put their ideas of what they imagine the Riverfront Park looking like down on paper as artwork.

One student shares what she drew and how she envisions the park looking in the future.

Aubrey Cook, a fourth-grade student at Cumberland Trace Elementary School, says, “I drew what I think the Riverfront Park should have in it. Like, I drew a rock wall and I drew, like, fill in trampolines. I think it was a special opportunity to draw and give my ideas.”

The next phase of the project will see this artwork produced by kids at several elementary schools taken to the middle schools, where students will use it as inspiration to write stories about the Riverfront Park.

Both stories and artwork will be used to create a book.
