Bowling Green, KY – We are excited to announce that the National Park Service has awarded $3.64 million in federal funding to support the development of Barren River Whitewater Park. This grant is part of a historic investment in local parks across the nation. The City of Bowling Green and the State of Kentucky will match the federal contribution, bringing the total project funding to $7.28 million.
This funding will provide significant support for the development of Barren River Whitewater Park, enhancing recreational opportunities along the riverfront and further establishing BowlingGreen as a hub for outdoor activities. The Whitewater Park will be an exciting addition toBowling Green Riverfront Park, which already offers kayaking, nature trails, climbing, biking, and much more.
